Kinsale was the most charming and picturesque of the towns we visited. It also had some of the narrowest streets. Known as the gourmet capital of Ireland, Kinsale was one of the few places we elected to skip the pub and enjoyed a superb dinner at the Spinnaker Inn

DAY FIVE

A tasty breakfast at Mother Hubbard's -- a tiny place crowded with a mix of locals and a group of construction workers, all jammed into maybe six tables -- and then we were on our way

On the trip from Kinsale we stopped at the Jameson distillery but feared we'd miss the last tour at the Waterford factory and so just stopped for a quick photo

After a nice tour (and falling prey to the gift shop) at the Waterford factory we went on to Kilkenny

In Kilkenny we stayed at Butler House, built by The 17th Earl of Ormonde for his mother, Lady Eleanor Butler who lived there after the death of her husband in 1783
